SAAHSP GRADING INITIATIVE 

Why has SAAHSP developed the Grading Process for Schools, Spas, Salons, DISTRIBUTORS and anyone who belongs and works in the industry? 

 

Grading came about because many therapists work out of scope in spas, salons and in some cases distributors train therapists who might not be qualified.  This creates a problem for therapists who are out of their depth. We are excited about this initiative because we can promote professional operations who do their best and these are our graded members who are professional and ethical. For them grading has been simple because they have been doing things the right way anyway from the get go. 

 

As a registered Professional Body, SAQA allows us to designate personal and with our professional and ethical process, the grading businesses within the industry has became the first step to promote ethical progress within the salon and spa industry to promote. 

 

We are very proud of this initiative because each and every SAAHSP member gets their first stage of grading as part of their annual fee.  We as a Professional Body ensure that every therapist is designated and performs within their scope. This is creating a professional industry with professional therapists who know what they can and what they cannot do.

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

Every SAAHSP member declares that they follow statutory and regulatory requirements.  By declaring this aspect, all members are given the first stage of grading for FREE.  It is called the Bronze Status. 

 

The second stage of grading is validating that the statutory and regulatory requirements which every employer has declared that they adhere to.  This stage has a questionnaire and validation process which costs R4 500 to cover costs of validation, certification process as well as auditor process and reporting.  

 

The third Stage of grading is validating the whole process of operation from start to finish. The cost for this process is R4 500.

SAAHSP School Grading and Guidelines

All our registered schools and institutions have been through many certification and accreditation audits to maintain and uphold industry standards. We would like to acknowledge the excellence, consistency and competence within our Schools, Colleges, and Institutions among our SAAHSP Training Providers with a new grading system.  South African Qualified Therapists are sought after all over the world because of the high-level training they have received.  To gain certification and accreditation is the start but to maintain the highest level of consistency demands effort, maintenance, and continual improvement. Within the new levels of QAP Accreditation through QCTO, SAAHSP has been authorized as the Trade Industry Body  to do the quality Assurance on their behalf.  Developing skills within our industry is vital for excellence to be maintained. Our Skillzbook supports continual personal  development after therapists have graduated.

Bronze Grading

All schools who have been registered at SAAHSP and have valid certificates.

• SAAHSP Certification

• All students are registered with SAAHSP

Silver Grading

All schools who have been registered at SAAHSP and have:

• Seta Services Accreditation Letter

• QAP QCTO (2023.06.30)

• All Students who are registered to do school’s training courses must be registered with SAAHSP

 

Gold Grading

All schools who have been registered at SAAHSP must have a valid

·       CHE Certificate /Higher Diploma for Education Facility/Public Provider Status OR

·       Services Seta /QAP QCTO (2023.06.30)

·       And have Cidesco/Itec certification based on the South African Qualifications they offer

All students participating in courses from the Gold Graded Facility must be registered with SAAHSP

Platinum Grading (FROM 2024)

All schools who have been registered at SAAHSP for over 15 years and represent a consistent transparent offering are able to apply.

• Should hold a CHE Certificate /Higher Diploma for Education Facility

• Offer Services Seta /QAP QCTO Recognized Courses

• Offer International Cidesco/Itec certification based on SA Qualifications

• Have a fully implemented Quality Management System

• Have a Complaints Management system

• Have Student Body with a Satisfaction/improvement Program available

• Have an Ilumni Group

• Every student participating in course offerings must belong to SAAHSP
